Let’s fight ocean pollution through culture.
For years, Sea Shepherd has fought to defend the marine world against human abuses and aggressions. Today, a new scourge threatens the oceans and their ecosystems: plastic pollution.
How can we raise awareness and inspire people to join the NGO in this fight?
To bring the dangers of single-use plastic to the forefront, OVAL launched the activation #pollutiondavril.
With this social and PR campaign, Sea Shepherd cleverly hacked the tradition of April Fool’s Day by inviting the public to take action through a symbolic, easy-to-replicate gesture.
On April 1st, everyone was encouraged to stick a piece of plastic waste on their back, replacing the usual paper fish, and to declare their commitment against single-use plastics on social media.
A simple and low-cost operation that resonated on a national level.
