Lives shattered by texting while driving, immortalized
The use of mobile phones is an increasingly common cause of road accidents. It not only involves those behind the wheel but also their loved ones on the other end of the call.
How can we raise awareness and alert the public to the dramatic consequences of using a phone while driving?
OVAL decided to implement a unique and impactful campaign:
“Shattered Lives”—an artistic exhibition created in collaboration with artist Simon Berger.
This communication campaign, embedded in the daily lives of French citizens, aims to inspire behavior change through art.
The campagne
For real.
Hypnotic portraits
We produced five monumental smartphones (2.5 meters tall) and installed them at Place de la République in Paris to showcase this artistic exhibition.
The artist, using his hammer to shatter the glass, revealed the faces of road accident victims, tragically struck down mid-conversation.
These intense portraits, etched into shattered glass and applied to the smartphones, evoke the immediate impact of the accident—windshields shattering and lives forever altered.
The exhibition was open to the public for 10 days as part of an unprecedented road safety campaign.
10 years of collaboration for 10 awards
We had the honor of seeing our campaign win 10 awards at the Club des DA, Com-Ent, the Best Event Award Global (Most Creative Award and Special Press Award), and the Grand Prix Stratégies. This recognition celebrates 10 years of collaboration between OVAL and Road Safety.
